Initials: Q & A

Initial jobs provide TaskEasy contractors with a high-paying task, but performing Initial cleanup services involves taking more time and effort to meet the scope of work. Here you will find the most commonly asked questions regarding Initials.

TaskEasy Initial Service: Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How do I know if a job is an initial in the app?

Answer: When you select “My Schedule” in your contractor app and click into a lawn mowing task you will see the package type called, “Initial Service TR1” or a similar Initial package type that will specify that it is an Initial service. Below the package type, you will also see “Initial:” listed before every sub-task in the scope of work section.

Question: What if there are no dead plants, shrubs, or ornamental trees?

Answer: Clearly note within the task that there are no dead plants or shrubs and provide wide-angle photos of the entire property showing all healthy vegetation.

Question: What if there is no sprinkler system?

Answer: Clearly note within the task that there is no sprinkler system.

Question: What if there are no flower beds?

Answer: Clearly note within the task that there are no flowerbeds and take several wide-angle photos of the entire property showing no flower beds.

Question: What if the shrubs, bushes, plants, or trees don’t need to be trimmed?

Answer: Take several wide-angle photos throughout the property. Photos should be close enough to show the detail of the vegetation, but far enough away to show the layout of the property. When in doubt, take additional photos. Tasks are especially likely to be rejected if clear photos are not taken.

Question: What if I can’t trim the item back per the requested inches?

Answer: Trim back an appropriate distance that does not damage the item being trimmed and take a photo. Include clear notes explaining your actions.

Question: What if another exterior or interior work is being completed at the same time?

Answer: Call and seek guidance from your advocate. If a car is simply parked in the drive and work is primarily interior, you should complete the work without delay. If extensive work is being done to the exterior of the structure, take documenting photos and report to TaskEasy for a reschedule date.

Question: Will my work by physically inspected?

Answer: Initials are likely to be inspected by TE personnel, or our clients, at any time.

Please note: If while on-site and listed scope is not needed, take a photo of it anyway to validate why something wasn’t done. Leave a comment for TE to be made aware to report to the client. By doing so this will decrease the number of rejections and non-payment issues.

  4. Several times the words..”clearly note within the task”. Does that really mean in the comments section we should state..”No irrigation system” etc? A good article, and it is helpful, but I am hung up on perfection. In order to do so, we need exact wording. QC NEEDS TO READ THE NOTES WE WRITE, PLEASE….

    • Hi Marty,

This is a great question and I would be happy to answer it for you. Yes, this does mean that if an irrigation system does not exist on the property that you should write a note in the comments section that says “No irrigation system”, or something that explains this in your own words. The wording does not need to be exact, it just needs to be clear. We will work closely with our QC team to make sure that they are reading all of the notes to make this process as smooth as possible. If you have any other questions about this, please do reach out to your contractor advocate as they would be happy to help. Have a wonderful day!
