Fluff and Buff Training (FAB)

What is a Fluff and Buff (FAB)?
FAB refers to the process of quickly cleaning or grooming an already maintained vacant home’s interior while a home is listed for rent or sale.

FAB cleanings are a great way to maximize your revenue at each property, considering most FAB cleanings take a short amount of time (about 15 minutes) when combined with routine lawn mowing.

Scope of Work
Your role is to inspect and document the home’s cleanliness and clean areas of the home when necessary. The homes should have already had a deep clean or construction clean–you are simply responsible for cleaning up any mess that may have been caused by casual visits to the property (e.g. a potential renter tracked mud into the house, or used the restroom and left it untidy). *See Cleanliness Standards below.
- Inspect common areas, entry, kitchen, bedroom(s) and bathroom(s).
- Clean when necessary.
- Take pictures to document that the house is clean.
Common areas, entry, kitchen, bedroom(s) and bathroom(s):
- Carpets are vacuumed.
- Hard floor surfaces are clean.
- All countertops and kitchen appliances are clean.
- Blinds, window sills and vents are clean of debris.
Performing Additional Work
In the event additional work is needed outside the normal scope of work, please contact TaskEasy’s Contractor Support team at 1(800) 518-4461 to work through a solution. Please provide the following information:
- A description of the work proposed.
- Photo’s indicating additional work.
- Dollar amount needed to complete additional work.
These items should be in your vehicle at all times.
- Vacuum with wand attachment (canister or upright)
- Dusting wand
- Paper towels
- Non-abrasive cleaner (Simple Green, Soft Scrub)
- Shoe covers (keeps dirt and other debris left from entering the home)
- Latex gloves
- Broom & dustpan
We will automatically schedule your FAB cleanings to coordinate with your scheduled lawn mowing. FAB cleanings are most likely to occur monthly. If the task is scheduled as a stand alone service, it will be listed on your schedule separately. Otherwise it will be included as a sub-task on your regular mow service.
Be sure your required equipment is in your vehicle at all times.
To enter the home, use the access code located in the Access Instructions section of the app to unlock the lockbox.
It is the responsibility of the contractor to ensure each property is secure prior to vacating the premise.
At the end of each cleaning, you will use the app (sub-tasks) to confirm that the key has been placed back in the locked lockbox.
Occupied Property Warning
In the event that you arrive to a property and it is occupied or being shown to a potential resident, stop what you are doing immediately and contact TaskEasy. These should be vacant properties, but if you find them to be occupied, DO NOT ENGAGE OR ARGUE WITH THE PERSON OCCUPYING THE PROPERTY. Instead, assume they have a right to be there and you don’t and contact us immediately.
If ever questioned about why you are on the property, politely explain that you were hired by TaskEasy to maintain the home’s appearance.
Remember to never be insistent or rude to any person on the property. You are a TaskEasy contractor. Do your best to remain professional and courteous if there is ever a conflict.
You are our eyes and ears on the ground, including documenting any serious messes or problems with the property. Once the cleanliness standards have been met, your last step is to submit photos showing the work has been completed. In addition to the photo set below, submit any before photos to demonstrate your work through the TaskEasy app.
When taking photos, do your best to show photos that reveal the home in it’s truest state – not just your “best” photos.

FAB App Training
Step 1: Add Before Photos
Tap the Add Before Photos button. Anytime cleaning is necessary, take before photos to demonstrate your work.
Next, tap the Add House Number Photo button. Proceed by uploading a photo of the address block or house number
Step 2: Confirm Cleanliness Standards
Once you have completed the task, use the sub-task checklist to confirm cleanliness standards and the key is back in the lockbox.
Step 3: Add After Photos
Please try your best to get the entire room into one photo. We recommend using landscape view when taking interior photos.
Training Team Members
If you are training other team members to perform FAB cleanings, we recommend having them shadow you until they have shown to you they can meet the criteria outlined in this document.
